Why is my TradingView alert not triggering?

Short answer

Check the alert's status, condition, frequency and expiration first. If those are correct, narrow the problem to the specific indicator, script, strategy or data feed used by the alert.

What you may be seeing

  • The alert is active but you receive no notification
  • Price appears to cross the level but the alert does not fire
  • An indicator signal appears but the alert does not trigger
  • The alert worked previously and now appears silent

Most likely causes

  1. The alert condition is not the one you intended
  2. The alert frequency or timer prevents the expected trigger
  3. The alert has expired or been stopped
  4. A script or strategy alert behaves differently in realtime than expected

Try this first

  1. Open Alert Manager and confirm the alert is active
  2. Review the trigger condition and chart interval
  3. Check the Frequency setting
  4. Check the Timer or expiration date
  5. Use the alert log to see whether TradingView recorded a trigger

If that didn’t fix it

  1. If it is a strategy alert, confirm you are testing realtime behavior rather than historical orders
  2. If it is a webhook alert, check the webhook status separately
  3. If the alert uses a custom script, recreate it after script changes

Verify the fix

Use a simple test condition you can deliberately trigger and confirm that it appears in Alert Manager or the alert log. Then restore your intended condition.

Why this happens

An alert that never triggers is usually a configuration or status problem rather than a reason to recreate your whole chart.

Start by checking whether the alert is active, whether its condition and frequency match what you intended, and whether an expiration time has already stopped it. Script- and strategy-based alerts can also have behavior that differs from what you see on historical bars.
