Watchlists do not carry chart drawings. Drawings belong to chart/layout context, while the watchlist is a separate account-wide symbol list.
What you may be seeing
- A symbol is in the watchlist but its expected drawings are missing
- Switching watchlists does not restore chart annotations
- The same watchlist appears across layouts but drawings differ
Most likely causes
- Watchlists are not containers for drawings
- The chart is using a different layout or drawing state than the one where the annotations were created
Try this first
- Find the layout where the drawings were created
- Open the same symbol in that layout
- Review drawing synchronization settings if you want drawings available more broadly
If that didn’t fix it
- Use global/layout drawing sync where appropriate
- Treat watchlists as symbol organization rather than chart-state storage
Verify the fix
Open the original layout and symbol and confirm the drawings are present there, independent of which watchlist is currently open.
Why this happens
Watchlists and chart layouts are separate parts of TradingView. A watchlist is an account-wide list of symbols; it does not store the chart drawings for those symbols or bind them to a particular layout.
