How To Use TradingView AI Copilot (2026 Guide)

TradingView Tutorials / AI Copilot Guide

TradingView AI Copilot is no longer mainly a browser extension story. It now lives directly inside TradingView’s Supercharts side panel as a native AI assistant.

If you searched for TradingView AI Chart Copilot or TradingView Remix, you are looking at the right tool — but the product has changed. The old extension-based beta has effectively been replaced by a built-in AI Copilot experience inside TradingView on the web and in the desktop app.

In this updated 2026 guide, we’ll show you what changed, whether TradingView AI Copilot is free, how to open it, what it can actually do, which prompts are worth using, and when it is worth paying for.

If you are still learning the platform itself, start with our How to Use TradingView guide. If you want the wider subscription context first, see our TradingView Plan Comparison and TradingView Free Plan guides.

Quick note: AI Copilot is not included in the Free plan. In our October 2026 test, the Free-plan interface showed a Get access prompt inside the Copilot panel instead of full access.

Key Takeaways

  • TradingView AI Copilot is now built directly into TradingView on web and desktop, so the old extension workflow is no longer the main one.
  • The old TradingView AI Chart Copilot and TradingView Remix names still matter because older searches and guides use them, but the current product inside the platform is simply AI Copilot.
  • Free users can see the entry point, but full access is paid. AI Copilot is sold as a separate add-on for paid TradingView plans.
  • AI Copilot can answer questions about your chart, explain context, add indicators, draw levels, create alerts and watchlists, and help write Pine Script.
  • It works best as a workflow assistant, not as a blind buy/sell signal machine.
  • The most useful prompts ask for structure, evidence, invalidation, and next steps — not “Should I buy now?”

What Is TradingView AI Copilot?

TradingView AI Copilot is an AI assistant that works directly alongside your chart inside TradingView’s interface. Instead of pasting chart details into an external chatbot, you open Copilot in the right-hand panel and ask questions about the chart, symbol, indicators, price action, news, fundamentals, or workflow you are already looking at.

It is essentially the current evolution of what many users first knew as TradingView AI Chart Copilot or TradingView Remix. The idea is still the same: AI that can see your TradingView context and help you work faster. The difference is that the product is now integrated into TradingView itself.

Best mental model: AI Copilot is not a magic signal seller. It is best used as a chart-aware assistant for analysis, context, setup review, alert creation, and workflow acceleration.

What Changed in September 2026?

The biggest update is that TradingView moved AI Copilot into the platform itself. The old browser-extension workflow is no longer the main experience, and TradingView says the extension is no longer actively supported and will eventually be discontinued.

Earlier betaCurrent AI Copilot
Main identity was Chart Copilot / Remix as a browser-side extension.AI Copilot is built into TradingView on the web and desktop app.
Setup focused on installing a Chrome or Chromium extension.Open Supercharts and click the AI Copilot icon in the right-hand panel.
Older guides emphasized beta access and extension limits.Current access uses a paid-plan + separate add-on model with a monthly usage limit.
Old screenshots showed browser-extension controls.Current screenshots should show the native TradingView sidebar and Copilot panel.

Is TradingView AI Copilot Free?

No — full AI Copilot access is not included with TradingView Free. TradingView currently offers AI Copilot as a separate add-on for its paid Essential, Plus, Premium, and Ultimate plans. TradingView also says a paid-plan trial can be used to enter the Copilot access flow.

Free users can still see the Copilot entry point. In our October 2026 test, the panel opened normally but displayed a Get access prompt instead of an active chat subscription.

Price snapshot: our Free-account screenshot displayed “Start using AI Copilot for $7.50/month.” Treat that as a screenshot of the offer we saw, not a permanent global price. Check the live checkout in your own account for current pricing, currency, and tax.

TradingView says the add-on renews monthly, can be canceled in profile settings, includes a monthly usage limit, and unused usage does not carry over. AI Copilot is not yet available in TradingView’s mobile apps.

How to Open TradingView AI Copilot

The current native workflow is much simpler than the old extension setup.

  1. Open TradingView and sign in.
  2. Open any chart in Supercharts.
  3. Look at the right-hand toolbar and click the AI Copilot icon.
  4. The Copilot side panel opens next to your chart.
  5. If you do not have access yet, click Get access and review the checkout shown for your account.
  6. Once access is active, type a question or choose one of TradingView’s suggested prompts.

TradingView AI Copilot now appears directly in the chart interface. Click the AI Copilot icon in the right-hand toolbar to open the native side panel.

Once the panel opens, TradingView presents a set of suggested starting prompts. In our Free-account view, examples included What can you do?, Quiz me on this chart, How is my trading? Coach me, Top opportunities for today?, Rate my current setup, and What’s the latest on NVDA?

A good first request is deliberately neutral:

Give me a neutral technical summary of the chart currently open. Explain the trend, structure, momentum, key support and resistance areas, the strongest bullish and bearish scenarios, and what would invalidate each scenario. Do not give me a buy or sell recommendation.

What Can TradingView AI Copilot Do?

TradingView’s current AI Copilot is broader than a simple chart explainer. It can answer questions using TradingView context and perform supported actions directly in the chart workflow.

CapabilityPractical use
Chart analysisSummarize trend, structure, momentum, support, resistance, indicators, and technical context.
Market contextWork with TradingView quotes, financials, news, earnings, economic calendars, and Screener data.
Chart actionsSwitch symbols or layouts and add indicators from the conversation.
DrawingsAsk Copilot to draw relevant levels or other chart references.
Alerts and watchlistsCreate alerts and watchlists from the same conversational workflow.
Pine ScriptWrite and apply Pine Script directly with AI assistance.

Important: TradingView says Copilot’s numerical answers are grounded in TradingView data, but it also explicitly warns that AI Copilot can still make mistakes. Treat the output as analysis to verify, not as financial advice.

Best TradingView AI Copilot Prompts

The best prompts are specific and structured. Instead of asking Copilot to make the decision for you, ask it to organize evidence in a way you can verify yourself.

GoalPrompt to try
Neutral chart reviewGive me a neutral technical summary of this chart: trend, structure, momentum, support, resistance, and the main risk.
Challenge your thesisGive me the strongest case against my current interpretation and tell me what evidence I may be ignoring.
Scenario analysisGive me one bullish scenario, one bearish scenario, and the price behavior that would invalidate each.
Indicator contextExplain where the visible indicators agree or disagree with price action. Separate trend evidence from momentum evidence.
Alert planningIdentify three levels that deserve alerts. Explain why each matters and what I should verify if an alert triggers.
Setup reviewRate the quality of this setup and explain the three strongest points, three biggest weaknesses, and what would improve it.
LearningQuiz me on this chart. Make me explain the trend, important levels, momentum, and invalidation before you reveal your answer.
Pine ScriptBefore writing code, explain the exact indicator logic, inputs, plots, alert conditions, and edge cases you would implement.

Simple prompt rule: ask for evidence, competing scenarios, and invalidation. Avoid asking AI for certainty that the chart itself cannot provide.

A Simple AI Copilot Workflow

  1. Open one chart you actually want to study.
  2. Ask Copilot for a neutral summary of the current structure.
  3. Ask it to identify the important support, resistance, and invalidation areas.
  4. Ask for both bullish and bearish scenarios.
  5. Verify the important claims manually on the chart.
  6. If the chart is worth monitoring, ask Copilot to help create the relevant alerts.
  7. Keep position sizing and any real-money decision separate from the AI opinion.

This keeps AI in the role where it adds the most value: speeding up observation, organization, and follow-up without replacing the user’s judgment.

AI Copilot vs the Old Chart Copilot Extension

TradingView’s own original beta article now contains an update stating that the browser extension is no longer actively supported and will eventually be discontinued. For most users, there is no reason to build a new workflow around the extension today.

These are related AI products, but they solve different problems.

Limitations and Risks

  • AI can still be wrong. Grounding answers in TradingView data does not make every interpretation correct.
  • It does not replace your process. Chart structure, risk management, and review discipline still matter.
  • It is not available in mobile apps yet. The current native Copilot is a web and desktop feature.
  • Usage is limited. TradingView says the add-on has a monthly usage allowance and unused usage does not roll over.
  • Actions still deserve confirmation. Check symbols, levels, alerts, drawings, and generated Pine logic before relying on them.
  • Do not expose sensitive information. Avoid pasting passwords, API keys, broker credentials, or unnecessary personal data into any AI workflow.

Practical rule: use AI Copilot to help you see more clearly, not to help you think less.

Is TradingView AI Copilot Worth It?

It can be worth it if TradingView is already a central part of your workflow. The strongest case is convenience: chart context, TradingView data, chart actions, alerts, watchlists, and Pine assistance are available without constantly switching between a chart and a separate AI tool.

AI Copilot is more likely to be useful if you:

  • review many charts or symbols regularly,
  • already rely on TradingView alerts and watchlists,
  • want faster chart-side context and follow-up actions,
  • want Pine Script assistance inside the same platform.

It is harder to justify if you only open TradingView occasionally, are happy with the Free plan, or expect the AI to provide reliable trade decisions for you.
